|Dr. Cindi-Marie Willoughby is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Illinois. She completed her Doctor of Psychology Degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2010. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science. Dr. Willoughby has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health centers in Skokie, Chicago, and Joliet, as well as a residential substance abuse / dependency facility in Chicago. She has extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Willoughby has focused her clinical skills in treating clients with mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-spectrum disorders, crisis intervention, substance abuse / dependency, relationship issues, and schizophrenia. She has facilitated groups on effective communication, coping skills, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with adult populations.
Dr. Willoughby utilizes empirically supported therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Her approach to therapy is focused on values, workability, and collaboration with her clients as she often incorporates mindfulness and flexibility to help clients achieve their goals. Dr. Willoughby is also proficient in psychological testing for children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Willoughby is currently an adjunct professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, University of the Rockies, and Ashford University.
She began work as a staff psychologist for Mark D. Parisi, Psy.D. & Associates, P.C. in 2012.
