Dr. Ellen M. Stone is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who currently works in private practice in downtown Chicago and the near southwest suburbs of Chicago. She provides clinical services to individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, addiction recovery and family / relationship issues.
She was the Coordinator of the Cook County government’s employee assistance program from 1989 until 2008 and continues her interest in working with individuals balancing their work and personal lives, as well as consulting with managers and human resource administrators on creating and maintaining a positive, engaged workforce. Dr. Stone’s other professional interests include working with children and families involved in the court system due to child abuse and neglect. She provides counseling services for children, adolescents, and families involved with the court due to incest and sexual abuse.
Dr. Stone joined Mark D. Parisi, Psy.D. & Associates, P.C. as an associate providing inpatient services in skilled nursing facilities for older adults and individuals with chronic mental illness. Dr. Stone received both her Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. She has served as a board member of the North Illinois Employee Assistance Professional Association (NIEAPA) and is currently vice president of the Illinois Consortium of Assistance Programs for Professionals (ICAPP). She also services as the liaison for the Illinois Psychological Association (IPA) to ICAPP. She is long-standing member of the American Psychological Association (APA).
Dr. Stone grew up and currently lives on the south side of Chicago. She and her husband enjoy spending their free time with family in Chicago, California, Arizona, and Texas, as well as friends throughout the world. Dr. Stone enjoys to travel for education as well as enjoyment. Last year, she took a study abroad trip to Tibet focusing on the rich ethnic and cultural aspects of that part of the world.
