Dr. Robert Puls is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Illinois since 1989. He received his Master’s degree from George Williams College in 1979 and began working in private practice. He earned his Doctor of Psychology Degree (Psy.D.) from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1988.
Dr. Puls is also a certified special education teacher. He is a long time member of the Illinois Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association, and is a registrant in the National Register of Psychologists. Dr. Puls has worked as a staff psychologist at Charter Barclay and Hartgrove Hospitals. he has taught at the Illinois and Chicago Schools of Professional Psychology. He worked for five years as a forensic psychologist at the Circuit Court of Cook County and has been an expert witness in Illinois, Indiana, and New Mexico.
Dr. Puls also co-founded Hopewell School, Inc. – a therapeutic school for adolescents with psychological challenges. For 31 years, Dr. Puls has worked in private practice doing psychological assessments and psychotherapy with children and adults. He has maintained a practice in downtown Chicago and, more recently, in the Southwest suburbs. In this capacity, he also provides child custody and other types of forensic evaluations.
Dr. Puls joined Mark D. Parisi, Psy.D. & Asosciates, P.C. in 2010 providing inpatient psychological services at skilled nursing facilities in Metro Chicagoland. Dr. Puls is married and has three children. He is a native of Ohio and came to the Chicago area to attend graduate school. He lives with his family in Oak Park and enjoys playing tennis and basketball.
