David Banas, LCSW received his Master of Social Work Degree (M.S.W.) from Dominican University in 2011 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Illinois in 2015.  His career in mental health began by working with individuals with developmental disabilities in 2006.  This included children, adolescents, and adults with various special needs.  His duties included, but were not limited to, providing support in private schools, recreation support, housing assistance, vocational supports, and championing the causes of the developmentally disabled in nursing home settings.

In 2013, David started to provide support for adults with behavioral and mental health concerns through a community outreach approach.  He counseled clients diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, depression, and substance abuse.  David’s approach to counseling is guided by the belief that everyone deserves a good quality of life; therefore, he strives to provide guidance to individuals who are dealing with daily struggles in their lives.  He encourages clients to make positive changes in their lives and to work on issues at their own pace.  His approach is person-centered and his strengths as a counselor are based on maintaining a non-judgmental attitude.  David joined the outpatient practice of Dr. Parisi & Associates, P.C. in 2017 and works exclusively out of Dr. Parisi’s Chicago office location.

David was born and raised in Chicago and is Polish bilingual.  He is a strong believer in self-care and when not practicing as a Social Worker, you can find him trying his skills at cooking in the kitchen or watching endless loops of YouTube videos.
