Diane McClain, LCSW graduated from the University of Michigan in 1977 with a double Social Work concentration in community organization as well as clinical casework.  She achieved prestigious Board-Certified Clinical Diplomate (BCD) status in 1987.

Diane has worked within the Veterans’ Administration system, performing both medical social work and substance abuse recovery work.  She has also held jobs in the family service agencies and served as the Director of Adoption and Foster Care.  In addition, Diane has served as an Employee Assistance Program consultant, outpatient psychiatric clinic director, and has been involved in geriatric consultation in both outpatient and facility-based settings.  Throughout her long and dignified career, Diane has served as both a fieldwork liaison and clinical instructor to Masters of Social Work graduate students.

Diane is highly experienced in grief work, life transitions, family / couples’ counseling, dealing with complicated family issues – include infidelity, divorce (including LGBTQ couples / families) as well as alternative family building issues.  Diane has also worked with older children and teenagers on a variety of issues.  Diane believes that no matter how prepared you might think you are for life transitions that, sometimes, we find ourselves in situations we could never have imagined.  She tries to work with her clients on building better, more effective coping skills and resiliency.  Diane brings a holistic view and offers an integrative approach to learning new coping skills and recognizing the triggers and choice points when faced with challenging life circumstances.

Diane joined Dr. Parisi & Associates, P.C. in 2017 as an outpatient provider and currently works in the Chicago office location.
