Ms. Marissa Raglin earned her Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Psychology from The University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016 and went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from The Family Institute at Northwestern University in 2018. During her undergraduate studies, Marissa had the opportunity to study abroad in Ecuador and India.
Marissa has received specialized training in child psychopathology and adolescent treatment and values the opportunity to work with children and their families. She believes that mental health counseling can play an integral role in facilitating early childhood and adolescent development. Marissa utilizes play therapy and artistic expression to facilitate working with children and teenagers. Marissa also has a strong foundation in working with adult and geriatric clients. Her multicultural background and integrative approach to counseling allows her to build a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients. Marissa has received training in Psychodynamic Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She has a deep passion for advancing the profession along with enhancing the lives of the clients she works with.
Marissa joined Dr. Parisi & Associates, P.C. in 2016 as a Practicum Student and has continued to work there as a Clinical Counseling Extern working toward her LCPC certification. She currently works in Dr. Parisi’s inpatient and outpatient practices. She is an active member of the American Counseling Association and recently presented at the International Association for Marriage and Family Counselors and published an article in the Family Journal focused on technology-assisted counseling. In her free time, Marissa enjoys spending time with her family, road trips, yoga, and reading about art history.
