Ruth Mellenthin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Illinois. She completed her Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Illinois at Chicago Jane Addams School of Social Work in 2006. Ruth went on to complete her post-master’s externship with Home Psych Services, P.C. in 2014-2016 where she provided services for clients residing in skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities throughout Metro Chicagoland – gaining valuable experience in community mental health.
With twenty years of experience in social services, Ruth has worked with women, children, adolescents, homeless persons, and the elderly, as well as those suffering from chronic illnesses. She has extensive experience in the area of substance abuse treatment, including five years as an adolescent counselor and several years as a director of a group home for women recovering from addictions.
Ruth strongly believes that every individual deserves to be treated with respect and to be listened to without judgment. She is knowledgeable about various methods that are effective in treating depression, anxiety, anger, compulsive behavior, trauma, and relationship challenges.
Ruth lives in the Northwest suburbs and enjoys the outdoors, working on crafts, and keeping up with current events.
